BRAND WORK
(FAQ).
BRAND STRATEGY
WHAT IS A BRAND STRATEGY AND WHY DO WE NEED ONE?
Brand strategy is what makes you stand out from the rest. We help you find a unique positioning that resonates with your audience and fits the latest market and channel insight. A strong brand is also what makes data-driven marketing pay off: without it, the effort does not land where it should. Brand strategy can be framed as four questions: who are we for, what do we stand for, how are we different, and how do we say it consistently. Established brands get 30–50% lower acquisition cost and a 10–25% price premium.
WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO WORK ON OUR BRAND?
Usually when the business has moved faster than the brand, i.e., when the product has outgrown the story. Typical moments:
- You are expanding or going international and need to package the company for new markets.
- You are preparing a launch, funding round or merger.
- The offer has outgrown the story you tell.
- Sales, marketing and management describe the company in different words.
- Buyers struggle to see why you rather than a competitor.
WHAT DO WE ACTUALLY GET?
A brand platform your whole organization can use, including elements such as positioning, purpose, values, brand attributes, brand personality and tone of voice, key messages per audience, and a one-line brand essence. A separate communication platform covering goals, audiences, messages, and channels can be added to the deliverables list. The brand platform acts as a compass for every brand decision.
HOW LONG DOES THE BRAND STRATEGY WORK TAKE?
Our agency typically spends 3–5 weeks on positioning and strategy before the identity work starts. The typical length of a whole brand project is approximately 3 months.
WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM US?
A small decision group, access to the people who know the business best for the key workshops, and any existing research, brand and sales material. If there isn't any, we start from scratch.
HOW DO WE KNOW THE NEW STRATEGY WORKS?
We agree the measures before launch and set a baseline: brand awareness and consideration, how customers describe you, satisfaction, and sales.
BRAND IDENTITY
WHY INVEST IN A DISTINCTIVE IDENTITY RATHER THAN A CLEAN, SAFE ONE?
In the competition for attention, bolder and more distinctive brand experiences get people’s attention. The identity is where the brand comes to life. An inspiring emotion is many times more effective than listing rational benefits alone.
DO WE NEED A COMPLETELY NEW IDENTITY OR IS A REFRESH ENOUGH?
We decide that together, based on where you are and where you are going. Often a refresh is enough: a sharper logo, a modern typeface, an adjusted color palette, a clearer image style, or adding motion to bring a static look to life. When the strategy changes direction, the identity usually has to follow.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
Brand identity work typically includes a logo and logo system, colors, typography, image style, icon style, graphic elements, motion graphic examples, and tone of voice examples for chosen touchpoints. The work also typically includes visual layouts for key touchpoints (5–7 items). This helps in decision-making.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GRAPHIC GUIDELINES, BRAND BOOK AND VISUAL IDENTITY?
Graphic guidelines are a rulebook for brand elements: logo, colors, fonts, and how to use them. A brand book is the reference document that sets out what the brand is and how it should look and sound, so that everyone who uses it (staff, agencies, partners) produces consistent work. People also call it brand guidelines or a brand manual. The visual identity is the whole expression people experience, including imagery, motion and graphic elements. We design them all.
HOW DO OUR TEAMS KEEP THE BRAND CONSISTENT AFTER HANDOVER?
You get guidelines, editable templates, and source files, plus an introduction for the people who use the brand every day. We also offer AI-ready brand files, including tone and visual rules your team can load into AI tools.
HOW LONG DOES A BRAND IDENTITY PROJECT TAKE?
The typical range is 6-12 weeks, depending on the scope.
BRAND-DRIVEN MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION
WHAT DOES BRAND-DRIVEN MARKETING MEAN?
It means that every single brand action takes the brand toward the chosen goal. We translate the brand into marketing concepts and communication so that a campaign, a sales deck, or an event concept systematically builds the same brand rather than pulling in different directions.
WHAT CAN YOU PRODUCE FOR US?
Marketing concepts and campaigns, pitch decks, event concepts and materials, social media templates, content, packaging, websites, and digital services.
SHOULD WE SPEND ON BRAND OR PERFORMANCE MARKETING?
Both, working together. Performance marketing captures demand quickly; the brand creates the demand and makes every paid euro work harder over time.
WILL THE TEAM THAT BUILDS THE BRAND ALSO ROLL IT OUT?
Yes. The same people who define the strategy and identity create the marketing, so nothing is lost in a handover between agencies.
CAN YOU WORK AS OUR ONGOING CREATIVE PARTNER?
Yes, we would love to. We offer either a monthly retainer or project-by-project work.
HOW DO YOU MEASURE MARKETING RESULTS?
Against business goals agreed up front: inquiries, sales and brand metrics. Reach and engagement are tracked as interim signals, not the goal.
